Ever since our origins in 1710, Spalding Gentlemen’s Society has brought together a community of people who support the creation and sharing of knowledge. That we have survived for over three hundred years and flourish as we do today, is down to the support, dedication and hard work of our members.

The Council of Management is responsible for all aspects of the Society’s activities. Individuals are elected at Annual General Meetings, acting as Trustees and Directors. The composition of Council and tenure of office are prescribed in the Articles of Association. Council members are not paid.

Volunteers
Volunteers are at the heart of Spalding Gentlemen’s Society. They carry out a variety of tasks required to maintain the museum building, care for our collections, and inspire individuals and communities about heritage and the arts. Find out more about volunteering with us.

(The 2nd Duke of Buccleuch became the first Patron of the Society in 1732, and the 9th Duke was also Patron until his death in 2007).
