Our next Open Day is on Sunday September 22nd. The Museum will be open to the public between 11:00 and 16:00. There is no need to book, no admission charge and you are free to wonder round at your leisure. Our friendly guides will be happy to try and answer questions. This event is part of a national heritage event.
Special displays
On this occasion we will be celebrating William Stukeley, often described as the forefather of British archaeology, an early member of our Society.
We will show practical museum conservation techniques with a close look at ‘smocking’ giving us a chance to display some items of rural costume seldom exhibited.
There will also be a rolling display of projected images taken from our collection of magic lantern plates which show rare views of Spalding and the surrounding villages.
We hope to see as many of you as possible on the day!
