Stukeley Drawings on show at Grantham Gravity Fields

A selection of the Spalding Gentlemen’s Society’s collection of  William Stukeley drawings will be on display. These drawings were conserved in 2016 with the assistance of a Heritage Lottery Fund grant.

EXHIBITION:
WILLIAM STUKELEY DRAWINGS
An exhibition featuring original drawings by
William Stukeley – Lincolnshire antiquarian and
Sir Isaac Newton’s biographer – who lived in
Grantham from 1726 to 1730 on the junction of
Castlegate and Avenue Road. Stukeley pioneered
the archaeological investigations of Stonehenge
and Avebury and founded the Grantham
Freemason’s Lodge.
