Talbot House in Poperinge, Belgium 1915 –
In this lecture, we’ll look at the history of Talbot House in Poperinge, Belgium. We’ll cover from the Armistice in 1918, its importance to the developing Toc H movement in the 1920s, its role in WWI, post-war, and its relevance following the centenary of WWI.
The speaker, Louisa Evans, has been visiting Talbot House for 40 years – firstly as a member of the Toc H staff and now as a House Warden and Trustee. A retired SEND teacher and caseworker, she organises children’s activities for Spalding Gentlemen’s Society.
