Are you looking for something educational and fun for the whole family to do during the school holidays? Perhaps you might want to explore new ways of bringing history to life?
Spalding Gentlemen’s Society is running an interactive and hands-on workshop all about The Glorious Greeks on Tuesday 26th May 2026. Attendees can drop in to the event between 10am and 2pm.
Children can discover more about Gods and Goddesses, try decorating pottery, learn about ancient temples, and have a go at making their own column. They’ll also enjoy hearing tales of myth and legend, investigating ancient theatre and masks, and discovering how to write their own name in the Greek alphabet.
“This event will be a great opportunity for children of all interests and abilities to find out more about the world of the Ancient Greeks,” says the Society’s Louisa Evans. “Participants will love immersing themselves in the lives of people from the past and trying some of their specialist skills.”
The workshop is recommended for children aged 6 to 11. Refreshments are provided, but please bring your own packed lunch if you’re staying over lunchtime. Parents and guardians must stay with their children. The event is being held at Spalding Baptist Church on Swan Street (PE11 1BT).
Attendance is free, but donations to Spalding Gentlemen’s Society are welcomed. With only limited spaces available, attendees must book in advance. For more information and to book, please visit www.sgsoc.org/events/glorious-greeks
